1&1 internet hates bunnies

For some time, I have used 1&1 for a few of my domains. For an equal amount of time, I have regretted this decision. I am now in the process of switching all my domains to Gandi for they are not scam artists, and are French, which is excellent.

Anyway, below is my current (ongoing) debate with 1&1. I hope that it defers you from using their scam flavored brand of failure. Another benefit is now when the 1&1 goons come and whack me, there's public record of our debate. :)

My initial email to them, upon discovering that they yet again claim I owe them money:
================================================================

  1. Today I received an email from 1&1 noting that my debit card was
  2. declined and 1&1 is thusly unable to charge me the required amount. I was not aware
  3. that I owe money. For which domain is this charge required?
  4.
  5. Secondly, and more importantly, please direct me to either:
  6. A) A step by step instruction on how to fully deactivate automatic renewal
  7. for every single domain on my account, no exceptions
  8. OR
  9. B) Someone who is willing to provide a step by step instruction on how to
  10. fully deactivate automatic renewal (for every domain, no exceptions)
  11.
  12. Finally, I find it somewhat amusing that this situation has occurred
  13. again. The last time -- about a week ago -- that my debit card was
  14. declined was because my bank flagged 1&1's charges as possibly fraudulent.
  15. In light of this amusing assessment of 1&1's business practices, I am forgetting
  16. why it is that I use 1&1 at all, as I've never had this problem
  17. anywhere else on the internet.

As you can see, Lisa answers exactly zero of my questions and subsequently
directs me to the cancel page for my account.

Below, in the response, I mention that they answer one of my questions, which isn't technically true, They did, however, answer my unwritten question of "do they even care". Without further ado, my response:
================================================================

  1. Great!
  2. You answered one of my questions, but I still would like to know for which domains
  3. I received a late bill notice and why it is not already taken care of.
  4. As I said already, this happened to me last week, and when I checked I was
  5. under the impression that my domains were not up for renewal for some time.
  6. I do not want to remit payment if it is owed, but PLEASE tell me for what domains
  7. I owe, if any, and why my bank again thinks that 1&1 is doing shifty shit.
  8.
  9. Or is my account up to date?
  10.
  11. Regards,
  12. Allyn Bauer

  1. This assessment is incorrect. I previously paid this balance.
  2. The payment cleared on my debit account, and 1&1 actively reported it as paid.
  3. The new charge is not accurate. Please remove it.
